Meet Joe & Lex

Welcome! We created our blog to provide you with practical travel advice, planning tips, and destination recommendations to help you plan the trip of your dreams! Travel isn’t just about taking a vacation; it’s about creating moments of joy, experiencing what life has to offer, and having fun! We consider ourselves privileged to be able to fulfill our passion for travel and share our stories and experiences with you.

We live in Chicago with our two dogs, Blanche and Dorothy who always keep us entertained. We both work 9-5, so our travel is limited to the number of vacation days we get per year. Our five year plan is to move abroad or become digital nomads, maybe both!

Our brand values are deeply embedded in everything we do. We believe in inclusiveness, and do our best everyday to embrace and respect people from all walks of life. We uphold values of honesty and integrity and our goal is to deliver high-quality, relatable, and reliable information that you can trust. Our business is more than just a source of extra income; it’s a passion project driven by the desire to help others and bring joy.

Lex fell in love with travel as soon as she had enough money in her pocket to take her first trip. She loves travel planning and keeps a long bucket list. She is the author of most blog posts and creator of resources. She also creates and manages an Etsy shop called Our Golden Girls.

Joe got bit by the travel bug after he spent time in the U.S. Army. During his military service, he had the opportunity to travel around Europe and loved it. He’s a laid back kind of guy and is the expert behind any photography or videos on our site or socials.

We got married in Croatia in September of 2022. People always ask if Croatia has a particular significance to us, but mostly we’d visited once before and love it. We knew that we wanted to have a destination wedding – we wanted to share our love of travel with those most dear to us. It was absolutely beautiful and an incredible addition to our love story.
